FINDING THE SOLUTION TO AN IT PROBLEM, AVOIDING UNNECESSARY COSTS
Stores belonging to one of Italy’s most famous luxury brands kept reporting that customers were not happy with the electronic catalogue available on tablets in-store, as the images were taking too long to load.
In order to exclude problems relating to the different technologies used by the stores, the company decided to solve the problem by installing servers in each shop, featuring a replica of the electronic catalogue. This, however, would have involved a significant investment for the relative purchases and installation.
Before going ahead, the Sherlogic platform was installed, which immediately identified the real cause of the problem: an error in the configuration of the active directory in the parent company’s DC.
It was therefore decided to activate Sherlogic to control the hardware and software infrastructure of the electronic catalogue at the Data Center and at the sales outlets in Milan and Florence. This allowed the CTO to solve the problem once and for all, proving that it would have been useless to invest in the servers.
